Our Founder: Michael Harrison Michael Harrison brings a unique and distinctive advantage to real estate development and asset management leadership. With a background in mechanical, electrical, nuclear, and biomedical engineering, Michael has extensive experience in managing multimillion-dollar projects from concept through completion. His career spans roles in the US Navy, leading building systems consulting engineering firms, Turner Construction, and JLL. Michael is known for his ability to solve complex challenges, drive innovation, and set new standards of excellence. His visionary leadership and commitment to excellence have enabled him to build cohesive, collaborative teams that deliver outstanding results.

Michael Harrison is Principal of Edson Advisors, a project management and real estate development consultancy. Mr. Harrison is a multi-dimensional, solution-focused leader who has successfully executed multimillion-dollar life science, healthcare, infrastructure, mixed-use, commercial, and residential projects. Prior to founding Edson Advisors, Mr. Harrison was recruited to Alexandria Real Estate Equities where he managed a 2.23 million sq. ft life science and technology portfolio, including oversight of asset management, design, construction, and tenant relations. He has led all aspects of build-to-suit and speculative build life science projects, including but not limited to, concept and design development, architect and contractor selection, schedule and budget management, and construction management.

With 25+ years’ experience in the design & construction and real estate industry, Mr. Harrison has developed the skills to drive value by managing risk, finances, and people for clients. He is adept at overcoming obstacles and challenges, whether economic, market, environmental or community-based with industry insight, end-to-end experience, and perseverance. He has earned broad and deep experience in the construction of major projects including those in the banking, healthcare, life science, and technology industries through roles with industry leading engineering, construction, and project management firms such as Cosentini Associates, Turner Construction, and JLL. Mr. Harrison began his career in the United States Navy as a nuclear mechanic and chemist before graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in electrical engineering and a minor in biomedical engineering and earning his MBA.
